Culligan
of Albany has been providing our customers in Linn, Benton, Marion, Polk,
and Lincoln counties with bottled water services since 1979.
Our bottled water is processed and produced in our NSF / IBWA certified
plant in Albany, Oregon. By no means is bottled water’s path to
the marketplace a cakewalk. At Culligan of Albany, we use a combination
of several treatment methods to build safety and quality control into
every step of our process.
By law, the U.S. Food and Drug Administrations’s (FDA’s) Standard
of Quality for bottled water must be at least as stringent and protective
of public health as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s)
standards for public drinking water.
Individual states also regulate bottled water, performing a variety of
functions that can include lab certification, source approval and plant
inspections.

And then there is the IBWA Model Code, which, in several cases, is more stringent than the FDA, EPA, or state standards, including unannounced plant inspections by an internationally recognized third party.
IBWA bottler members also impliment a voluntary system called HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point), which was adapted by IBWA from FDA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a science-based approach to help ensure safety in every step of the bottled water process.
